Creating diverse and sustainable livelihood opportunities is fundamental to breaking cycles of poverty and building economic resilience in rural communities. When individuals acquire relevant skills, market knowledge, and entrepreneurial capabilities, they gain the ability to generate stable incomes beyond traditional occupations. Our livelihood enhancement programs focus on practical training, institutional support, and handholding assistance to help beneficiaries establish successful enterprises and achieve lasting financial independence.

Livelihood Resource Agency (LRA – 8, 9, 10)

Building capacities of rural beneficiaries through entrepreneurship, marketing, and skill-based livelihood enhancement training forms the project’s core objective. To date, 5,432 farmers and rural youths from 20 villages across the project area have received comprehensive skill and livelihood training, along with valuable guidance on government schemes, credit access mechanisms, market opportunities, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. Exposure visits have been conducted for participants, complemented by ongoing handholding support to ensure smooth and efficient establishment and operation of their small enterprises and livelihood sources.

Skill Development of Tribal Youths

Tribal youths received technical training in electrical wiring, motor rewinding, phase systems, electric water pumping machines, drip irrigation, sprinklers, and pipe fitting through this Tribal Department-funded initiative. Equipping participants with farming sector skills aimed to enable decent livelihoods within their own villages, eliminating the need for urban migration in search of wage labor. Simultaneously, the program strengthened regional agriculture by creating a pool of technically skilled individuals capable of providing expertise in irrigation systems, water motors, and related infrastructure.

District Resource Organization (DRO)

Recognizing its expertise in watershed and Natural Resource Management (NRM) activities, the organization was selected by VASUNDHARA as the District Resource Organization. In this capacity, support is provided to NGOs and Community-Based Organizations across Wardha District for watershed development program activities.
