About The project
Education is a fundamental right, yet children with visual impairments face systemic barriers that limit access to learning materials, digital content, and equal educational opportunities. PROJECT ROSHANI addresses these inequities by creating an inclusive educational ecosystem where blindness is not a limitation but simply a different way of experiencing the world. This transformative initiative challenges societal perceptions, dismantles accessibility barriers, and ensures that every blind child receives the same quality education, dignity, and opportunities as their sighted peers.
Project Interventions:
- Technical Assistance and Support – Provide comprehensive technical assistance to blind girls, equipping them with adaptive technologies, assistive devices, and specialized training that enables independent learning and academic success.
- Educational Equity and Inclusion – Ensure blind children receive the same educational opportunities, experiences, curriculum access, and learning resources as sighted children, eliminating disparities and fostering truly inclusive classrooms.
- Transforming Social Perceptions – Change public attitudes toward blindness by demonstrating through tangible outcomes that blind children are, first and foremost, children with boundless potential—their visual impairment does not define their capabilities or limit their aspirations.
- Digital Accessibility and Content Access – Enable people with visual impairments to independently access digital content including websites, emails, online learning platforms, and digital documents through screen readers, accessible formats, and adaptive technologies—enhancing their overall educational experience and digital literacy.
Through PROJECT ROSHANI, we illuminate pathways to education, independence, and dignity for visually impaired children. By breaking down barriers—both physical and perceptual—we empower these children to not only participate in education but to excel, dream, and achieve their full potential in an increasingly digital and inclusive world.
